Dalits are forced to drink urine, and eat faeces in public ,and thus dehumanized in the worst way possible. There is no end to their suffering and abuse.

In Eastern cultures, shoes are considered to be very impure and filthy and so Dalits are forced to wear shoes on their face to signify that they are impure and filthy and should be trampled on like dust.

Dalits are shaved against their will and paraded wearing garlands of shoes. Such acts are meant to dehumanize them and rob them of their spirit and dignity.

Dalits are considered Untouchables and so are forced to bow before upper-caste Hindus like slaves. There are over 250 million such Dalits in India and their constant abuse is a human rights crisis.

Dalits are not allowed to earn money, own property or even dress well. Here a Dalit wails as she is tied to a tree and her property confiscated. Police often do not register complaints of Dalits or even allow them to enter police stations.

Dalits are not even given dignity in death. They are not allowed to be cremated in cemeteries used by upper or regular caste Hindus and so their corpses are often left on the ground.

Dalits are publicly lynched and beaten -- often raped and mutilated and this is a daily occurrence. No people in the world are as tortured as Dalits.

Dalits are not allowed to look pretty, and so are often shaved against their will, in public, to break their spirit and humiliate them.
